Welcome to Senior Blue, a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Lima, Peru. Located at Pje. de José Olaya 145 - 149, this inviting restaurant serves up an array of dishes that celebrate the vibrant flavors of South America.
Upon entering, you'll immediately feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. As one reviewer, adays zarate, pointed out, the ambiance is enjoyable, making it the perfect spot for any occasion.
Senior Blue's menu is diverse, catering to every palate. From delectable maki rolls, praised by Emily Nuckols as some of the best she’s tasted during her three-week journey through Peru, to traditional dishes like the cow heart, as enjoyed by Ella Hirsch, every bite promises satisfaction. The restaurant also offers great options for those with dietary restrictions, and their vegetarian and gluten-free choices ensure that everyone can find something to enjoy, a sentiment echoed by Jean Wenn Luce.
The service at Senior Blue has garnered high praise as well. Reviewers commend the staff for their attentiveness and willingness to accommodate any requests, even for those who may not speak Spanish fluently. It’s clear that the team takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. Notably, the pisco sour stands out as a must-try signature drink, with Paul recommending it as “superior” among the offerings.
Despite occasional hiccups, like the absence of avocados in a beloved tri-color salad, the overall experience remains delightful. The value here is unbeatable—where else can you enjoy a two-course meal with a drink for just 18 soles?
If you’re searching for an authentic culinary experience that melds delectable food and a homey atmosphere, look no further than Senior Blue. Whether you are a local or a traveler, this establishment invites you to savor the essence of Peruvian cuisine.
“ We had a late evening dinner. Apparently, in Perú, they don’t eat late like in other Latino countries. They were closing at 10. Anyway our server was excellent and tried very hard to meet our needs. First, I ordered calamari, but they were out of stock. So I switched to grilled liver. It was okay, just a little overcooked. I still ate all of it. My wife ordered a tri-color salad. Tomatoes, cheese, and avocados. No avocados! It’s the most common food in South America. They offered to add extra queso and we accepted. Sadly, they didn’t balance the tomato with the cheese. Oh well. The food around us looked good, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good. The pisco sour was superior. Try it. No gluten free beer. ”
“ Incredible food at a great price. Everything was delicious. Paid 18 soles for a two course meal with a pisco sour shot, and jello. A lot of good food for a good deal.good service too! I recommend it. Tried cow heart here too, delicious! ”
“ Great options for every taste — including GF and vegetarian. Very helpful servers for non-Spanish speakers. Great value! ”
“ The maki rolls were one of the best meals I’ve eaten in my 3 weeks in Peru. ”
“ Nice place. Good atmosphere! Feel like if you’re part of their family. 100% recommended! ”
“ I had an amazing lunch deal with an OUTSTANDING service. I walked by and someone called me to take a look, and after seeing the food on the menu, plus the place was packed on the patio, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Executive lunch special, which comes with an appetizer, entree, drink, and local dessert, all for less than 8 dollars. I ordered the fish ceviche 10/10, lomo saltado 6/10, local beer 10/10, juice, and the local dessert 1/10. Overall, I would return because of the service and affordable prices. ”
“ The food and service were very good. Frank was very obliging and gave us excellent advice. Small changes to the dishes were no problem. I would eat here again any time. The restaurant is in a very pleasant and quiet area. Thanks a lot for this nice dinner! ”
“ Twice I traveled to Peru this year 2024, and each time I've brought friends and family to the same place. I think we had either lunch or dinner there almost every day . Food was always on point, they even accommodated mine and my guests very eccentric requests! And the attention was excellent, we were treated as best friends, which I'll have to say I am now, friends with one of the hostess. Even though I'm not in Peru now, I'm still telling friends about the variety, quality and deliciousness of their food and their great and fun atmosphere. ”
